Message	With the hood closed, it's like an oven. Just cooking and dry rotting all your wires hoses and other rubber items in the engine bay. Opening it gets the heat out fast. I don't know if anyone else ever does this, but I do religiously. Of course you can't do this in parking lots, but outside there's at least a good chance of a breeze to help shed the under-hood heat. I also pop my hood release when I'm about a quarter mile from home to get the extra airflow before I pull into the garage. (No I'm not doing a hundred, just cruising safely through the nieborhood) Just a couple of ideas for you from a fellow car guy.
